Puttur: Driver succumbs to cardiac arrest inside truck, discovered after two days

Puttur, Dec 30: A truck driver, was discovered dead inside his parked truck along the Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway, near Uppinangady. The unfortunate incident, attributed to cardiac arrest, remained unnoticed for two days.

The deceased is identified as Khaleel Khan (58) from Channapattana.

Khaleel had transported a load of mattresses to B C Road two days prior and had been resting beside NH near Uppinangady. His lifeless body was found in a sleeping position inside the truck's cabin.

On Wednesday night, Khaleel had contacted his family, expressing chest pain and the intention to return home after some rest. When he failed to arrive on Thursday, his family sought assistance on social media. Responding to the online appeal, locals checked the truck parked in front of Lobo Complex by NH 75 at Uppinangady, discovering Khaleel's lifeless body in the cabin.

Social worker Farookh Zindagi of Uppinangady and members of SKASSF Uppinangady facilitated the removal of Khaleel's remains, conducted a post-mortem at Uppinangady hospital, and organized the final rites at Malikuddinar mosque. The body was subsequently transported to his hometown.
