Udupi: City municipality bye-election – BJP candidate wins by six votes

Udupi, Dec 30: In the bye-election that was held for Moodu Perampalli ward of city municipality, BJP candidate Anita Belinda D’Souza won by six votes.

Congress candidate Shruthi got 1109 votes while BJP candidate Anita Belinda D’Souza polled 1115 votes.

This ward was a fortress of Congress for many years. The bye election was held due to the death of Congress councillor Celina Karkada.

Now, the Congress is down to just three seats in Udupi city municipality.
