Mangaluru, Dec 30: The vice-chancellor of Mangalore University, Prof Jayaraj Amin, has filed a complaint with the cyber-crime police regarding the misuse of his photograph on WhatsApp. An account was created using the number 9638447718, sharing multiple messages with professors and others. The vice-chancellor has provided information to the cyber-crime police and emphasized the need for legal action against the individuals responsible for creating and using the fake account.

On Saturday afternoon, several messages were circulated through this fake account, raising concerns among professors who promptly brought it to the attention of the vice-chancellor. Immediate steps are being taken to identify the culprits and initiate legal proceedings against them.
