Abu Dhabi: Sadananda Gowda to Grace K'taka Sangha's Rajyotsava Celebrations

Abu Dhabi, Sep 12: Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha will host Karnataka Rajyotsava Celebrations - 2011 Friday November 4 at India Social & Cultural Centre, Abu Dhabi from 10.30 am onwards.
Chief minister of Karnataka Sadananda Gowda has already been invited to be the chief guest by Sangha's Patron Dr B R Shetty. He has already indicated his acceptance provisionally.
Dr B R Shetty will preside over the function and M K Lokesh, Indian Ambassador to the UAE will be the guest of honour.
In addition, to the variety of dances, group songs, skits etc, the Sangha will conduct a UAE-level folk dance competition.
The following are the guidelines to be followed by all participating teams:
The dance shall be based on kannada folk songs only. If the particular folk song has been used in any of the movies, then the dance shall be based on the original tune and theme.
The duration shall be between 5 to 7 minutes.
Each team shall have both male and female (above 18 years) participants, Number of participants shall be minimum 8.
Participants shall not participate in more than one team.
The winning teams (1st, 2nd and 3rd) will be rewarded with trophy and cash prize.
There will be two prizes for Choreographers.
All UAE based kannadigas are welcome to participate.
The registration will close on October 1 2011. Please contact any of the following executive committee members to confirm your participation.
Fire and water shall not be used during the dance.
Preperation shall not take more than five minutes prior to the start of the dance and the stage shall be cleared immediately after the dance.
Karnataka Sangha Picnic
The Sangha plans to conduct a one day picnic filled with games and enjoyment on Friday, December 16, 2011. Further details will be announced soon.
All UAE Kannadigas are requested to reserve the above dates to participate in the Rajyotsava Celebration and the Picnic.
