Mangaluru, Jan 2: In a press conference on Tuesday, January 2, V R Sudarshan, former chairman of the state legislative council and Congress leader, criticized the BJP for its inaction on the Ayodhya case during its tenure. Sudarshan highlighted that the Congress government in Karnataka came to power due to the public's desire for change and experienced leaders.

Sudarshan urged BJP leader Ashok to address his actions as the former home minister during the Ayodhya case. He dismissed the current BJP activities related to the case as mere politics.

Regarding the Karnataka government, Sudarshan stated that Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar's united efforts against the previous government led to the Congress's victory. He emphasized the government's responsibility to provide more schemes and ensure their availability to deserving citizens, especially in the wake of challenges like scanty rain.

Sudarshan announced plans for a significant event to celebrate the 100th year of the AICC office in Belagavi, inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1924. He stressed the importance of creating awareness among future generations about the contributions of freedom fighters.

Responding to a query about Mallikarjun Kharge, Sudarshan praised him as a popular leader nationwide, playing a key role in connecting likeminded parties. He hinted at Kharge's involvement in discussions about the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

On the demand for the arrest of Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, Sudarshan emphasized considering legal aspects and not solely focusing on political gains. He expressed plans to discuss the matter with the home minister.

Regarding the recent Parliament fiasco, Sudarshan criticized the suspension of MPs and the passage of laws without adequate discussion. He emphasized the importance of respectful dialogue in the parliament, with participation from both ruling and opposition parties.

Congress leaders Ibrahim Kodijal, Vishwas Kumar Das, Subhodaya Alva, Lawrence D’Souza, Vikas Shetty, Neeraj Chandrapal and Jitendra Suvarna were present.
