Hyderabad, Sep 12: Ayazuddin, son of former India cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin who met with grave accident on Sunday September 11 morning, continues to be in a very critical condition.

A bulletin released by the Apollo Hospital where he's admitted stated that he is in a 'very critical condition and is currently on a ventilator. He has multi-organ failure and is being supported with medication and other treatment to maintain his vital functions."

It further stated, "The prognosis and outcome are guarded due to the severity of the injury and continued instability."

Mahesh Joshi, head, emergency medicines at Apollo Hospital, said the youngster sustained grievous injuries in the chest and kidneys. A surgery was performed on him late on Sunday to stop bleeding from the chest.

Sources said that a tem of specialist doctors are keeping watch round-the-clock on Ayazuddin.

The accident took place near Puppalguda on the Outer Ring Road when the sports bike Ayazuddin was riding skidded and crashed, killing 16-year-old Ajman-ur-Rehman, his cousin.

Soon after hearing the news of the accident, Azharddin who was in London rushed back to Hyderabad. He and his family members, including his first wife Naureen and second wife Sangeeta Bijlani, are camping in the hospital.

Ayazuddin, a promising cricketer, is Azharuddin's younger son, from his first wife Naureen. Elder son Asaduddin also plays cricket.

Ajmal-ur-Rahman was buried in a graveyard in Shantinagar on Sunday night. He was the son of Congress leader Khaleeq-ur-Rahman and grandson of former MP Khaleel-ur-Rahman.

Azharuddin joined Congress before 2009 elections and was elected to the Lok Sabha from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh.
