Udupi, Jan 4: Road repair and patch work is in progress on the main road of Tenkapete and old post office road. However, the public expressed rage on the extremely poor quality of work that is being carried out by the contractor.

Municipal commissioner who rushed to the spot confirmed the accusation of the public and asked the contractor to do quality work.

Former city municipality member Nityananda Olakadu said, “The repair work of public roads is being done by the taxpayers’ money. It is not right on the part of those who are in-charge of these works to gobble these funds. Higher officials should patrol these areas. They should check the quality of work every now and then. Then only misuse of public money can be prevented. It is possible to construct good quality roads.”
