From lantern-lit studies to IAS success: The inspirational journey of Anshuman Raj

Daijiworld Media Network – Bihar (MS)

Bihar, Jan 5: Hailing from the remote district of Buxar in Bihar and born into a humble family, Anshuman Raj faced early challenges studying under the glow of a lantern until he successfully completed his SSLC due to the absence of electricity in his village.

The scarcity of basic amenities instilled in Anshuman a strong work ethic from a tender age. After obtaining his graduation degree at JNV Ranchi, financial difficulties loomed large. However, Anshuman confronted these challenges with unwavering courage, emerging victorious in the face of adversity.

Upon deciding to pursue the UPSC examination, Anshuman found himself back in his remote village. Without the luxury of coaching, he had to rely on self-study. Despite securing a position in the IRS during his initial attempts, Anshuman remained unsatisfied, steadfast in his pursuit of becoming an IAS officer.

Anshuman's determination eventually bore fruit as he fulfilled his dream by cracking the UPSC 2019 examinations, securing an impressive All India Rank of 107.
