Kadaba: Mescom lineman electrocuted, loses life during repair work

Sullia, Jan 6: A Mescom lineman was electrocuted while repairing a faulty electricity line at Balpa near Subramanya in Kadaba taluk on the afternoon of Friday, January 5.

The deceased has been identified as Raghu S R (32), a native of Holenarasipura Sigaranahalli in Hassan district. He is survived by his parents, wife, and two sons.

It has been reported that Raghu died due to an accidental electric shock during repair work at Nariyanga in Balpa. He had been working as a lineman with Mescom for the past one and a half years. Subramanya police and Mescom officials visited the spot, and Raghu's remains were taken to Kadaba hospital.

In a tragic incident last June, lineman Dyamanna Doddamani, a native of Bagalkot, was also electrocuted while conducting repair work at Talekki in Kutrupadi village of Kadaba. This marks the second such death within seven months in the taluk.
