Sullia: Vandalism of deity Sri Rama Banner sparks outrage, BJP leaders demand action

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (MS)

Sullia, Jan 7: A banner featuring the image of deity Sri Rama, displayed near the private bus stand in the city to commemorate the Sullia temple fair, the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, and the silver jubilee of the BMS autorickshaw drivers’ union, was vandalized by miscreants.

The incident, discovered on January 6, is believed to have occurred during the night of January 5. The banner, which had been erected three days prior, drew the attention of Sullia police upon its defacement. Autorickshaw drivers and leaders from the BMS union were present at the scene.

Expressing their condemnation, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and MLA Bhagirathi Murulya called for swift action to apprehend the culprits. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel directly contacted the superintendent of police in Dakshina Kannada, urging immediate arrests. Simultaneously, MLA Bhagirathi Murulya engaged with the circle inspector of Sullia, urging the arrest of those responsible for disrupting social harmony.
