Mangaluru, Jan 8: Tribute was paid to late Basti Vaman Shenoy on his second death anniversary at the Vishwa Konkani Kendra at Shaktinagar in the city through music. Ankush Nayak played Sitar while Balachandra Prabhu sang song. Rajesh Bhagavat played Tabla, Sridutta Prabhu and Prasad Kamath accompanied.

Garland and floral tribute was offered to the statue of Late Basti Vaman Shenoy. President of Vishwa Konkani Kendra Nandagopala Shenoy paid rich tribute to Late Basti Vaman Shenoy and recalled his contribution to the Konkani language and literature.

Tributes were also paid by thinker Prabhakar Joshi, Dr Kasturi Mohan Pai, Bantwal Narayan Kamath, Edward Sequeira, Geeta C Kini, and Juliet Moras. The speakers recalled the unique personality and leadership capabilities of late Basti Vaman Shenoy.

Secretary of Vishwar Konkani Kendra C A Giridhar Kamath, treasurer B R Bhat, trustee William D’Souza, Ramesh Nayak and Walter D’Souza, Payyanur Ramesh Pai, research director Dr B Devadasa Pai and many admires of Basti Vaman Shenoy were present.

Trustee of Vishwa Konkani Kendra Shakuntala R Kini and Suchitra S Shenoy compered the programme. Dr Vaishnavi Kini sang song in honour of Basti Vaman Shenoy.
