Kundapur, Jan 8: “Vikasita Bharat Sankalpa Yatra is not a programme of any political party. But it shows how we should progress to become numero uno in the world in 100 years after gaining Independence. If every citizen takes steps towards progress, there is no doubt that the country will become number one in the world,” said Shobha Karandlaje, union minister and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency MP.
The union minister was speaking at the Vikasita Bharat Sankalpa Yatra that was held under the limits of Belve gram panchayat.
She further said, “Every citizen of this country has to think about development. Agriculturists have to make their products reach the market. Women folk at home should monitor the cleanliness of their homes and take care of their families. In addition, they should learn to stand on their own feet. If the country has to develop the house and family should become self-reliant.”
MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, manager of Manipal branch of Canara Bank Sripandit M G, assistant manager Srijit K, gram panchayat development officer Prabhashankar Puranik, Dr Navin Kumar of KVK Brahmavar, Manjunath of NIC Udupi, Mohini of AIR Mangaluru and Rajeshwari were present.
