Udupi, Jan 9: Strong winds and rainfall in Udupi and in the outskirts of the city  on Tuesday, January 9 towards the evening affected normal life here.

The city received heavy rainfall on Tuesday evening all of a sudden accompanied by thunder, lightning and strong winds.

The banners put up on multi-storied buildings in the outskirts of the city got torn off due to the storm.

A huge banner on a building at Maruti Veetika road got torn and was seen oscillating dangerously due to the strong winds as its intensity was quite powerful.
