Kundapur: PhD conferred on Chetan Shetty Kovadi by Kannada University, Hampi

Kundapur, Jan 10: Chetan Shetty Kovadi, the Vice Principal of Dr B B Hegde First Grade College and NSS Programme Officer, has been awarded a Ph.D. by Kannada University, Hampi.

The PhD was bestowed upon him for his thesis titled "Karnataka Karavaliya Pradeshika Adhyayanada Vibhinna Pravrathigalu," presented through Mangaluru’s Theological Research Centre. His mentor for this achievement was Dr Narendra Rai Derla, a renowned columnist, author, and assistant professor at First Grade Women’s College, Puttur.

Chetan Shetty Kovadi served as the folklore expert for Kundapur in 2014, contributing to the 'Folklore History Glossary' of Karnataka Janapada University, under the guidance of the esteemed folklore scholar, Professor A V Navada.

Engaged in literature, cultural pursuits, education, and research, Kovadi has been recognized with the Nation Builder and Yuvaratna awards. He is the son of Kroda Bailur Kelamane Balakrishna Shetty and Kovadi Gauri B Shetty.
