Kundapur, Jan 11: In a commendable effort, the taluk police team successfully traced and recovered 20 mobile phones that had been reported as lost over the past two years. The rightful owners were joyfully reunited with their devices on Thursday, January 11.
Among the recovered mobile phones, one each was located in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, and Gondala, Andhra Pradesh. The remaining 18 devices were retrieved from various locations across Karnataka.
A public information workshop held at the city police station on the same day focused on unblocking mobile phones previously reported through CIER (Central Equipment Identity Register). The attendees were also briefed on precautionary measures to take when dealing with lost mobile phones.
SP Dr K Arun Kumar provided guidance to the police team, utilizing CIER to facilitate the successful recovery. ASPs Parameshwar Hegde and Siddalingaiah supervised the operations, with DySP Belliappa leading the team. The team included CI Nandakumar, SIs Vinay Korlahalli and Prasad, along with constables Siddappa, Murali, and Avinash.
