Mangaluru, Jan 12: The anti-drug team of the Mangaluru sub-division, under the leadership of ACP Dhanya Nayak, apprehended Asif (27), a resident of K C Road near Kotekar, on charges of possessing and transporting the narcotic MDMA.
The police seized 4.41 grams of MDMA, along with one motorcycle and other equipment valued at Rs 68,000.
Acting on a credible tip-off, SI Santhosh Kumar from Ullal police station, along with personnel Shaju Nair, Mahesh, Akbar Yadravi, and Naveen K P, conducted a raid on vacant land near the public road adjacent to U G Gateroad in K C Nagar of Kotekar village. The operation led to the discovery of Asif in possession of the prohibited narcotic substance.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident at the Ullal police station. This operation was conducted under the guidance of city police commissioner Anupam Agarwal, directed by DCP Siddarth Goel and Dinesh Kumar.
