Sushanth, a dance trainer, was teaching dance in the college where the victim was a student. Mistaking the friendship for something more, he had been harassing the girl to love and marry him. The incident, recorded by a CCTV camera behind the hospital, served as the primary evidence in the case.

The court proceedings, which started on February 10, 2021, involved 21 witnesses. The judge ordered the accused to serve concurrent sentences for various charges, adjusting the prison term according to the time spent in custody. Jyothi Pramod Nayak represented the victim, and Ullal Police Station Sub-Inspector Guruvappa Kanti conducted the investigations and registered the case under six different sections.

This judge has given a perfect sentence. a 25 yrs was so much better due to amount of repeated stabbing that almost damaged her intestines. by the time he comes out he will be in middle age. But once again there's a lapse in law political influence and cash may bail him out within 9 yrs.

Bit lenient sentence and has to be challenged in higher courts... Love is the other name for sacrifice... Here this is not love at all... He was acting as if he owned her... Subjecting someone to such bodily harm is with the sole intention of killing the victim and hence this should be termed not less than a murder... He must serve longer sentence that would cover all his potential life behind bars...

these dance trainers, gym trainers or any kind of sport are a very dicey lot...parents should be careful when they leave their children with them...otherwise this will be the fate...most of them are not well educated...so when they look at healthy, wealty and beautiful girls their mind gets corrupted...little bit of social talk with them, they consider it as love affair....very cheap mentality..

18 years of sentence doesn't means that he will be in for 18 long years... They are total number of years for various sections which will run concurrently...so he will be out in 6-8 years
