Kundapur: Railway station shelter inaugurated with donated amenities

Kundapur, Jan 12: A shelter for railway passengers, equipped with donated amenities under the leadership of the Kundapur Railway Passengers’ Welfare Committee, was inaugurated on Friday, January 12 evening.

MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi, who inaugurated the shelter, commended the committee for providing the amenities and thanked the donors, including Sri Ram Granite, which donated the granite for the project. He expressed the intent to request the minister for additional improvements to the shelter.

“I am pleased to inaugurate this shelter. Railway stations should be clean, and the platform should be suitable for elders as well. The appearance of the railway station contributes to the overall beauty of the village. The committee's work is commendable,” stated Ananda C Kunder, promoter of Geetanand Foundation, the donor for the digital board.

Konkan Railway PRO Sudha Krishnamurthy highlighted the ongoing development of the railway station through the collaboration of the Hitarakshana committee and donors. He emphasized the need for more such shelters and urged the railway board to make decisions regarding the Amrath Bharath project and Vande Bharath train in the area.

Aksha Ganesh Putran, president of the committee, and Gautham Shetty urged the involvement of MPs, MLAs, and Pejavar Shree to facilitate the development of the railway station under the Amrath Bharath project.

Among the attendees were Konkan Railway assistant traffic controller Vinay, donors Koju Ram Devasya from Sriram Granite, B N Narasimha from Nesara Sign creators, Red Cross chairman Jayakar Shetty, secretary Seetarama Shetty, treasurer Shivarama Shetty, honorary president of the railway committee Kenchanoor Somashekar Shetty, vice president Rajesh Kaveri, Vivek Nayak, Raghavendra Shet, Kenchanoor Kishan, Lions Club regional president Eknath Bolar, Koteshwar Rotary president Jagadish Mogaveera, Lions Club Amrithadhare president Ashalatha Shivaram Shetty, Saraswati Putran, Kalpana, Bhasker, Mumbai based entrepreneur Marathuru Suresh Shetty and others.
