Udupi: Adani Foundation lays stone for 3 community infrastructure development projects

Udupi, Jan 14: Adani Power Limited – Udupi TPP, which is operating thermal power plant in Yellur village, Kaup Taluk, Udupi District, in hands with its CSR wing Adani Foundation, laid the foundation stone for 3 infrastructure development works under its CSR in the limits of Mudarangadi Grama Panchayat, Kaup Taluk, Udupi District.

 

A Kachcha road measuring 80 meters length connecting to Jangama Mutt in Pilar village; concreting of floor for Ganapati Katte in Kunjigudde village and erection of roof structures for Muggerkela Daivasthana in Pilar village are the projects that are being undertaken by Adani Foundation under its CSR at a total project cost of Rs 15 lac. Bhoomi Pooja was formally performed by Kishore Alva, president and executive director of Adani Group and Namita, president of Mudarangadi Grama Panchayat in presence of members and villagers of Mudarangadi GP.

Performing the Bhoomi Pooja Kishore Alva addressed tha,t after Adani took over the UPCL project, Adani Foundation is spending averagely Rs 5 crores every year for the last 8 years for various development works for the benefit of the society as a part its CSR programme in the field of Education, Health, Promotion of rural sports and Community Infrastructure in the surrounding villages of Udupi TPP. In the total annual budget, nearly 45% is being spent towards infrastructure development works, followed by Health and Educational initiatives. Alva expressed happiness that the surrounding Grama Panchayats are providing blueprint to Adani Foundation for the works to be developed in their respective Grama Panchayats, by way of annual action plan and because of which the implementation by Adani Foundation is getting smoothened. He further informed that Adani had committed to implement infrastructure development works worth Rs. 4.65 crores in Mudarangadi Grama Panchayat, out of which Rs. 3.92 crores worth works have been completed and handed over to GP, unveiling for the usage by society.

Later Namitha, president of Mudarangadi GP, informed that there was huge demand by villagers of Kunjigudde and Pilar for development of the above works and accordingly it was decided in General Meeting to include these works in the proposal of annual action plan of CSR, to be submitted to Adani Foundation for the year 2023-24. She thanked Kishore Alva for accepting the annual plan and expediting converting the action plan for implementation.

Annappa Kundar, Loie Mathais, David D’Souza, Geetha Poojary, members of Mudarangadi Grama Panchayat, Mari Muthu, Panchayat Development Officer of Mudarangadi GP, Adani Power Limited’s AGM Ravi R Jere, Adani Foundation’s Anudeep were present on the occasion.
