Karkala: Novena prayers inaugurated at St Lawrence Basilica, Attur

Karkala, Jan 14: Inauguration of the novena prayers ahead of the annual feast and celebration of St Sebastian feast was held at St Lawrence's Basilica Attur, Karkala on Sunday Jan 14. 
 
Nithin Salian, vice president Nitte gram panchayat inaugurated the novena by lighting the lamp. In his address, he said, "Attur annual feast is a feast of all and not just for Attur. Everyone's co-operation is necessary for the success of the organization of this feast."
 






















































 
Fr Cyril Lobo, director Divya Jyothi wa ateh maain celebrant for the holy Eucharistic celebrations. 
 
The statue of St Sebastian was brought in a procession and was blessed on the occasion. The annual feast of St Lawrence Basilica, Attur will be celebrated from January 21-26. 
 
Panchayat member Rajesh, St Lawrence Basilica Attur director Fr Alban D'Souza, assistant parish priest Fr Larry Pinto, spiritual director Fr Roman Mascarenhas, parish pastoral committee vice president Santosh D'Silva, secretary Ronald Noronha, 20 commission convener Benedicta Noronha were present on the occasion. 
 
Assistant parish priest Fr Larry Pinto blessed. Santhosh D'Silva, vice president welcomed the gathering. 
 
Parish pastoral committee secretary Ronald Noronha proposed a vote of thanks. Attur Church pastoral committee members and a large number of devotees were present.
