Udupi, Jan 15: Grand Mooru Theru Utsava was held under the leadership of seer of Paryaya Sri Krishnapura Math Sri Vidyasagaratheertha Sripada on Makara Sankrati, sixth day of the annual Satptosava of Lord Krishna.

Before the Utsava an attractive Teppotsava was held at Madhwa Sarovar. Thousands of people gathered to watch the grandeur. Seers of all eight maths participated in the celebration which was reverberating with Kombu and Kahale instruments.

Paryaya Krishnapura Math seer Sri Vidyasagaratheertha Swamiji, Palimaru math seer Sri Vidyadheeshatheertha, Sri Vidyarajeshwaratheertha, Kaniyoor math seer Sri Vidyavallabhatheertha, Sode math seer Sri Vishwavallabhatheertha and Shiroor math seer Sri Vedavardhanatheertha Swamiji participated in this year’s utsava.

Fire cracker display enthralled that audience. Sri Krishna Mukhyaprana was brought on golden palanquin and was placed on the chariots. Sri Krishna’s idol was kept on the Brahmaratha, Utsava murthy of Mukhyaprana on the smaller chariot and idols of Sri Anantheshwara and Chandramoulishwara were kept on the Garuda chariot. The chariots took one round of Car Street.
