Bangalore: Yeddyurappa Gets Anticipatory Bail in Graft Case

Bangalore, Sep 15 (IANS): The Karnataka High Court Thursday granted anticipatory bail to former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa in a graft case related to a tender he approved in the Upper Bhadra irrigation project during his tenure.

Justice L. Narayanaswamy ordered that the bail be granted to Yeddyurappa on furnishing a bond of Rs.1 lakh. He also directed the former chief minister not to leave the country and cooperate with investigating agencies.

Yeddyurappa sought anticipatory bail after the Lokayukta begun investigation into a complaint filed by Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) lawmaker Y.S.V. Datta.

It alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and his family members received Rs.13 crore from a private firm which was awarded the contract work despite being the higher bidder for the tender.

Yeddyurappa feared arrest as a division bench of the Karnataka High Court, comprising Justice K.L. Manjunath and Justice H.S. Kempanna, Aug 26 rejected his plea to quash the first information report (FIR) filed by the Lokayukta police Aug 10 to begin the probe in the case.

Yeddy favored mining companies. Mining companies put money in his sons trusts. This is the case of illegal gratification and abuse of power. Karnataka High court gives Bail to Yeddy. A Raja, the ex-telecom minister, favored certain telecom companies. They paid similarly to the trusts directed by him. He is now in jail, fighting his case and waiting to get out. Offense is same, judicial system is same, why Yeddy and Raja are differently treated? Courts must explain to public.

Now, the next step of Sriman (?) Yeddyurappa is go to Dharmasthla and various other temples, that he had previously visited, to offer his "thanks giving pooja".

WHAT IS THE USE OF A LOKAUKTA IF NO ACTIONS ARE TAKEN ON CORRUPT MINISTERS ? THERE IS NO USE OF LOKAUKTA. NOW THIS IS THE FASHION. BEFORE THE PERSON IS ARRESTED THE BAIL IS READY. SEE HOW YEDDY IS SMILING JOINING HANDS AS HE DID A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT BY GETTING BAIL.

KARNATAKA HIGH COURT GIVING ANTICIPATORY BAIL TO YEDDY WAS EXPECTED AS THE COURT IS IN KARNATAKA AND THE GOVERNMENT RUNNING IS BJP.

YEDDY WILL GO TO ANY EXTENT TO SAVE HIMSELF AND AVOID ARREST. YEDDY WAS SAYING WHEN HE WAS A CM, HE IS READY EVEN TO GO TO JAIL. NOW WHY HE WANTS BAIL BEFORE GETTING ARRESTED ? THIS IS THE WAY CULPRITS ARE LET OF THE HOOK. THAT IS WHY CORRUPTION IS GOING ON OPENLY AND WITHOUT ANY FEAR AS THE CULPRITS KNOW THEY WILL NOT BE ARRESTED AND THIS IS ONE EXAMPLE. GODFATHER'S ARE SITTING TO SAVE THEM. BJP IS TALKING ABOUT UPA CORRUPTION BUT NOW WHAT IS HAPPENING IN ITS OWN PARTY ? NOW NO SUSHMA, NO JAITLEY, NO NAIDU, NO ADVANI AND NO RAJNATH. ALL ARE QUIET.

IT IS PEOPLES VICTORY WHO ELECTED BJP UNDER LEADERSHIP OF BSY AS CM
CANDIDATE. HIGH COURT MUST HAVE OBSERVED THIS AND DICISION TAKEN BY BSY AS CM BE RESPECTED AS PEOPLES VERDICT.
THE LOKAYUKTA SEEMS TO BE IN A HURRY BY GIVING PARTIAL REPORT TO BYPASS PEOPLES VERDICT WITHOUT PROBING THE INDIVIDUALS/ COS. INVOLVING MINING LOSS OF RS.16,500 CRORES. MR.GOVERNER IS ALSO ACTING LIKE HITLER'S RULE. THIS WILL BE A PRECEDENCE TO FUTURE CM'S WHO NEVER ALLOW LOKAYUKTA TO PROBE ANY
ISSUES BECAUSE HE HIMSELF WILL BE PUT INTO PROBLEM FOR PETTY REASONS.
