Mangaluru: Man detained for objectionable video targeting CM Siddaramaiah

Mangaluru, Jan 15: In response to a video circulating on social media containing objectionable language against chief minister Siddaramaiah and others, the Surathkal police station has taken swift action. An FIR has been registered under CR. No - 6/24, invoking sections 153A, 505(i)(c), 504 of the IPC against a cab driver in Surathkal.

The complaint was filed by Suhan Alva, residing at Vaidyanath Nagar, Attavar, Mangaluru. The accused, identified as Anil Kumar, aged 34, and a resident of Ajjarani village in Sirsi Taluk, Uttara Kannada District, has been taken into custody.

Currently working as a cab driver in Surathkal for the last 12 years, the accused had been facing difficulties in getting his name added to the local Ration Card for the past three months. Frustrated with the situation, he created and uploaded the controversial video.

The police have secured the accused, registered a case, and initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.
