Mangalore: Traffic Jam at Hoige Bazaar After Goods Train Derails

Mangalore, Sep 15: Traffic near Hoige Bazaar here was badly affected after a goods train derailed here on Thursday September 15 evening.

The incident occured at around 6.30 pm when the last coach of the train went off track after it had finished unloading cement at the shed.

Commuters, most of whom were going back home from work, had a tough time and were stuck in traffic for more than two hours.

Buses plying from Pandeshwar have been diverted to Attavar.

Police rushed to the spot and assisted in clearing the jam. The train still remains derailed and is expected to be put on track soon.

No one was injured in the incident.
