Beltangady, Jan 19: The prime accused in a case registered at the Dharmasthala police station, pertaining to the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, was arrested after evading legal proceedings for nearly eight years.
The accused, identified as Wajid Pasha (54) hailing from Holenarasipura, Hassan, had been absconding since 2015.
He was arrested on January 17 and produced before the court.
The operation to arrest the accused was undertaken by Dharmasthala police station head constable Rajesh N, constable Govind Raj and constable Mallikarjun under the guidance of Beltangady police circle inspector Nagesh Kadri, and Dharmasthala police station sub-inspector Anil Kumar D, along with sub-inspector Samarth R Ganiger.
