Mangaluru, Jan 20: A day-long musical extravaganza, ‘Kadalanaada Sangeethotsava 2024’ was inaugurated by renowned singer Ramesh Chandra here at Townhall on Saturday January 20. The grand event is organised by the United Coastal Cultural Forum with the support of renowned music directors V Manohar, Gurukiran and Manikanth Kadri.
Prior to the inaugural programme, a karaoke singing session was held.
Cinema personalities Vijay Kumar Kodialbail and Dr Devdas Kapikad, Beary Kalavidara Okkuta president U H Khalid, Karavali Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkutta president Deepak Raj Ullal, actor Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, District Catering Association president Deepak Kotian, president of Sangeethotsava Naushad and others were present.
Tonse Pushkal Kumar welcomed the gathering and Krishna Prasad compered the event.
This event serves as a convergence of distinguished music maestros from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, providing a platform for emerging singing talents to captivate the audience throughout the day.
The day-long programme includes various events such social harmony songs in Kannada, Tulu, Beary, Konkani, and Hindi, along with a star-studded musical nite featuring the music maestros of the coastal belt.
Esteemed musicians from the coastal belt, including V Manohar, Charan Kumar, Ameer John, Eric Ozario, and Vasanth Kadri, will be felicitated during the event.
The organising committee is led by general secretary Mohammed Iqbal, treasurer Ramesh Salian, vice-president Lawrence D'Souza, and members including V K Vijay, Thamma Laxmana, Jagadish Shetty, Babu George, Lakshmish Bhandary, Mallika Shetty, and others who are actively involved in coordinating ‘Kadalanaada Sangeethotsava 2024’.
