Beltangady, Jan 21: In a disturbing incident, two individuals allegedly assaulted Tahsildar Prithvi Sanikam and obstructed his official duties during an inspection of encroached government land at Maddadka in the taluk.

The incident occurred on Thursday when Tahsildar Prithvi, accompanied by a revenue inspector and a village development officer, was conducting an inspection in Maddadka, Kuvettu village. Accused individuals Nasir and Rauf reportedly obstructed the tahsildar's work and made an attempt to assault him. Furthermore, it is alleged that the accused verbally abused revenue inspector Prateesh, using profanity.

A case has been filed at the Beltangady police station in connection with this incident.
