Azharuddin's Son Loses Battle for Life

Azharuddin's Son Loses Battle for Life

Daijiworld Media Network

Hyderabad, Sep 16(PTI): Ayazuddin, son of former Indian cricket Captain Mohammad Azharuddin, died in hospital today five days after he was critically injured in an accident involving his high-end sports bike.

The 19-year-old youngest son of the cricketer-turned politician succumbed to his injuries this morning at the Apollo Hospitals, Doctors said.

Ayazuddin's Bike

Ayazuddin battled for life and remained on ventilator support after he sustained critical injuries when the sports bike he was driving skidded off the road at Puppalguda on Outer Ring Road (ORR) here last Sunday.

The budding cricketer remained in a "critical" condition throughout even as tests indicated dysfunction of his brain.

In a medical bulletin issued yesterday, Apollo Hospitals (Central Region) CEO Dr K Hari Prasad said, "Brain function tests conducted on Ayazuddin (in the past few days) indicate brain dysfunction. And his status remains critical."

Ayazuddin's cousin, Ajmal-ur-Rahman (16) who was riding pillion, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Very sad news. May his soul rest in peace. One of the finest cricketers of the world, stylish batsman, master of flick Mohd Azharuddin experienced Ups & Downs in life more than others. He became sensational batsman of Indian cricket, the moment he hit 3 consecutive centuries on debut against Engalnd. He was the one who taught Indians how important fielding is in cricket. He became India's very successful captain and didn't turn back untill match fixing allegations made him to stay away from cricket & public.

In meantime,he divorced his wife and married Sangeeta Bijlani.News papers, media people attacked him continuously once he was caught in match fixing.Azhar was clean bowled. He saw the another face of life.He kept quiet. He said when interviewd "I can't change my destiny,i have to accept it". He slowly started mingling with people, gained confidence and entered politics and elected as MP !.Everything was going smoothly and on track for Azhar. But destiny again gave him the biggest shock of his life. Azhar lost his son in a bike accident.Hope Azhar will recover soon from this shock.I pray to God to give my favourite cricketer Azharuddin strength to bear this tragic incident.

Very very sad news. May god give peace to his family and rest of the members. We don't permit the young guys to buy this kind of bikes in future if they are VIP's sons also. We have to ban bike riding in ORR. Please be brave Azhar bhai. Please control your self and support your other family members.
