Beltangady: Police arrest 54-yr-old accused absconder of court trials

Beltangady, Jan 21: Dharmasthala police have arrested an accused, a native of Holenarasipura in Hassan, who was absconding for eight years.

Wajid Pasha (54) is the accused arrested and has produced in court by the police. He had secured bail from court eight years ago in connection with a case. Pasha did not attend subsequent court hearings and was doing business in some other place.

Acting on a definite tip-off that the accused Wajid has arrived at Lakkur of Hassan, Beltangady CI Nagesh Kadri, PSI of Dharmasthala police station Anil Kumar and Samartha R Ganiger, HC Rajesh, PC Govindraj and Mallikarjun arrested Wajid and produced him in Beltangady JMFC court.
