Bengaluru, Jan 23: Reports suggest that the Karnataka state government is considering raising additional excise charges on beer.
The increase of the rates is mentioned in the draft of the notification to amend excise regulations 1968.
Sources indicate that the new regulations are expected to be finalized by the end of this month or the beginning of February.
If the proposed changes are implemented, the price of a bottle of beer in the state may increase by Rs 8-10 per bottle.
