Bengaluru, Jan 23: The Election Commission of India has written to district election officials stating that April 16 is the tentative date for holding Lok Sabha elections this year in Karnataka.

The Election Commission has written that the tentative date is announced so that the electoral officers can guess the starting dates and the ending dates and make preparations for them accordingly.
