Udupi, Jan 24: Bannanje Narayanaguru Mandira faced an unfortunate incident when an unidentified individual verbally abused the temple staff for not hoisting a Lord Ram flag on the day of the 'Prana Pratishtha' ceremony at Ayodhya.

The temple's management committee has filed a formal complaint with the Udupi Superintendent of Police (SP), urging the identification of the individual responsible. Additionally, they have demanded that the person come forward to apologize and provide an explanation for insulting the temple. Madhava Bannanje, the president of Bannanje Narayanaguru Sangha, emphasized the temple's longstanding commitment to social work and educational support for students over the past 80 years.

Madhava Bannanje stated, "We performed a special pooja on the day of the installation of Rama Mandira, but the flag was not hoisted in the premises." The temple authorities are seeking an explanation from the individual involved.

Udupi SP Dr Arun confirmed that the management committee of Bannanje Narayana Guru Mandira had reported derogatory statements made against the temple. The police will seek legal advice and consider registering a FIR. The SP assured that suitable action would be taken after a thorough investigation into the complaint.
