Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Jan 24: Hejmady village here is backward and has a population of ten thousand. The residents depend on agriculture, fisheries and daily wage work for their living. As the village lacks medical facilities, those who meet with accidents or are sick have to travel to distant Udupi, Manipal or Mangaluru for treatment. Most of the families face hardship in the absence of ambulance facilities and have to shell out huge amounts for their travel.

Geleyara Balaga who realized the issues has decided to inaugurate a free ambulance service for villagers at Hejmady on Jan 28. The ambulance will be inaugurated by Padubidri station police sub inspector Prasanna with the blessings of religious leaders and in the presence of dignitaries. The office bearers of Aptha Balaga have requested villagers to make use of the facility.
