Puttur, Jan 25: In a tragic incident reported from Nehru Nagar, a young girl named Aishwarya (29) lost her life despite her younger sister, Anusha, selflessly donating her liver in an attempt to save Aishwarya from liver failure.
Aishwarya, the daughter of the late Ananda Naika and a resident of Nehru Nagar, had been battling jaundice. She was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru, where doctors determined that a liver transplant was necessary due to significant damage to her liver.
Aishwarya's mother was willing to donate her liver, but Anusha, Aishwarya's younger sister, made the courageous decision to donate her own liver to save her sister's life. Both sisters were admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru for the transplant procedure. Tragically, Aishwarya suffered a heart attack during the liver transplant, leading to her untimely demise.
Anusha, who underwent the liver donation procedure, is currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital in Bengaluru.
