Kundapur, Jan 25: In a heartening gesture, a young couple, Anudeep and Minusha from Byndoor, who opted to clean the surroundings of Someshwara beach instead of embarking on a traditional honeymoon, has been invited to participate in the Republic Day parade by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The couple has already departed for Delhi.
Anudeep and Minusha, who tied the knot in November 2020, chose to contribute to their community by cleaning the local beach instead of opting for a honeymoon in distant locations. This noble act caught the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who acknowledged and mentioned the couple in his program 'Mann Ki Baat.'
In addition to the couple, another noteworthy invitee for the Republic Day parade is a young entrepreneur and cobbler named Manikanta. Operating a Lidkar footwear shop and providing footwear repair services near Shastri Circle in the city, Manikanta availed a loan under the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi scheme to establish his business. He diligently repaid the loans taken in the initial phases, leading the government to grant him Rs 50,000 in the third phase. Manikanta utilized the funds to support his brother's seat cushion shop.
