Udupi, Sep 17: A driver of a lorry had a miraculous escape when his vehicle veered off the bridge and plunged into the water.

The accident took place at Kallapu near Katpady here on Saturday September 17.

The lorry was plying from Mangalore to Andhra Pradesh. The driver lost control over the vehicle and veered straight off the side of the bridge.

Although the exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the driver may have been speeding.

As the lorry fell into the water, the driver quickly jumped off and escaped. The water being shallow, there was no risk of sinking.

Luckiliy, no one was seriously injured.

A case has been registered in the Kaup police station.

Thank God: indeed it is a big miracle that he didn't die or having many broken
bones. Also, nobody was on that side of the fall. Good news to read.

It is good see that the driver escaped unhurt and there is no damage to the public even.Accident happens,but care to be taken at the most.Speed thrills but kills.Cause of the accident be determined only after proper investigation.

The roads are so bad on the coast that there is no way any one can drive at a decent speed. One is forced to rush in the good patches so as to compensate the martian surface.!
