Uttar Pradesh, Jan 29: Pratibha Verma's journey is indeed a remarkable tale of determination, resilience, and the pursuit of one's dreams against all odds. Coming from a Hindi medium background in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, she faced the challenges of pursuing education in a system that might not have been as conducive to her goals. Nevertheless, her excellence shone through as she excelled in her studies, culminating in her admission to the prestigious IIT Delhi for her B Tech.
Choosing to carve her own path, Pratibha ventured into the corporate world after securing a position in a telecom company during campus interviews. However, her passion lay elsewhere, and after two years, she decided to take a leap of faith and pursue her dream of joining the civil services.
Embarking on her UPSC journey in 2016, Pratibha faced setbacks and challenges. Her first attempt might have been a disappointment, but undeterred, she persisted. In her second attempt, she achieved an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 489, though she felt unsatisfied with the role she had secured in IRS.
Her third attempt brought even more challenges when she contracted Dengue and typhoid, which could have easily derailed her focus. However, Pratibha's determination remained unshaken. The unforeseen circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic postponed the interview round, providing her with an opportunity to regroup.
During this hiatus, Pratibha turned to power yoga, meditation, and a special diet to rejuvenate herself physically and mentally. This disciplined approach not only helped her overcome the health setbacks but also fortified her resolve.
In 2019, with her third attempt, Pratibha achieved the remarkable feat of securing the coveted position of an IAS officer with an outstanding AIR of 3. Her story is a testament to the power of perseverance, unwavering determination, and the ability to overcome obstacles. Pratibha Verma stands as an inspiring example for aspiring individuals, showcasing that with dedication and resilience, one can conquer their goals despite the challenges encountered along the way.
