Brahmavar, Jan 29: In a harrowing incident in Brahmavar, a bullet tanker driver, inattentive to a sanitation vehicle parked on the national highway, collided with it and careened over the divider onto the footpath of the service road on Monday, January 29.
The incident unfolded as a gas-laden bullet tanker, en route from Mangaluru to Kundapur, approached Brahmavar. Simultaneously, a 'Navayuga' sanitation vehicle was engaged in cleaning activities. Unfortunately, the tanker driver failed to notice the sanitation vehicle, resulting in a collision. The impact caused the tanker to leap over the divider, traverse the service road, and ultimately crash into the footpath.
Sources indicate that had the tanker moved merely two feet further, it could have struck an electric pole, posing a potential risk to a nearby residence. Fortunately, the tragedy was narrowly averted.
Upon the incident, Brahmavar police swiftly arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation.
