Delhi, Feb 1: Durga Shakti Nagpal, a distinguished Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer known for her resolute stance against corruption, has a remarkable journey and personal life.

Durga, originally from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, graduated in computer engineering from Indira Gandhi Technical University in 2007. Despite securing a lower rank in her first attempt at the UPSC exam, she declined an offer to join the Indian Revenue Service (IRS). Determined, she made a successful second attempt, achieving an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 20 and becoming an IAS officer.

Commencing her IAS career in the Punjab cadre, Durga later moved to the Uttar Pradesh cadre in 2012 after marrying Abhishek Singh, also an IAS officer. Her father is a retired government employee. The couple, often celebrated as a power duo, met during Durga's IAS preparation in 2009 and have two children. Abhishek Singh chose to leave the IAS in 2023.

Durga Shakti Nagpal currently holds the position of District Magistrate in Banda, Uttar Pradesh. The media frequently highlights the couple's glamorous life and noteworthy contributions, cementing their status as a prominent and influential pair.
