Punjab, Feb 4: Clearing the UPSC in the first attempt is a challenging feat, even for those who undergo extensive coaching. However, Muskan not only successfully passed the tough examination on her initial try but also secured an impressive rank of AIR 87.
Hailing from Himachal Pradesh, Muskan cleared the UPSC in 2019 and currently serves as an IFS officer.
Muskan, who displayed a strong academic focus since childhood, harbored the ambition of becoming an IAS officer. She earned 10 cumulative points in her 10th grade from Biddi. In the 12th grade, her achievements soared higher with 96% marks. She completed her B.Com from SD College in Chandigarh, securing the fifth rank.
Muskan effectively utilized online compilations and newspapers to stay updated on current affairs. Although she used her mobile phone during her UPSC preparation, she maintained control over its usage. Consistency was a key element in her study routine, and she never missed her study hours.
Emphasizing the importance of practice and mock tests before the examination, Muskan highlights the need to maintain both balance and composure during interviews.
While Muskan acknowledges the usefulness of coaching and guidance from various institutes catering to UPSC aspirants, she underscores the significance of self-study. Typically dedicating seven to eight hours daily to her studies, Muskan's disciplined approach contributed to her success.
