Mangalore, Sep 20: A 19-year-old girl identified as Anusha committed suicide by hanging herself inside her room here on Tuesday September 20.

She was a first year BE student in Devi College, Kenjar. Hailing from Moodbidri, she opted to stay in her relative's house in Kenjar one and half months ago as it was not convenient for her to travel every day.

Her illegible handwriting in the death note made it hard to understand, but the last sentence stated that she herself was responsible for the extreme step.

She is the daughter of Krishnappa Moolya and Yamuna, and has two brothers and a sister. She was the youngest among the four.

On Tuesday morning when her relatives left for Mangalore at 8 am to buy some medicines she was alone at home. She locked the door before ending her life. On their return, her relatives were shocked to see her dead. However, the reason is unclear.

The body was sent for post mortem to a hospital in Kenjar. A case is yet to be registered in Bajpe police station.

We have been hearing about suicide consistently, since few months.
My humble request to College management, Kindly include a regular Personality development class or counseling program to cope with present stressful life. I am sure this will make a big difference.

Declan/Mumbai. Very well written, I end your prayer with Amen. I read it three times. We parents do whatever best we can for our children being good friends with them. Finally, it is only our prayers which will save them. Very shocking to hear the suicide news so often in Karnataka.

Common younsters require courage and proper guidance to face any problems of life. They should be strong and among all if one has Gods love in one's heart then no one can take this kind of step. God will not reject anyone of any mistakes but due to fear of the society people end life. This very sad and shocking.

Very disturbing to hear more and more young children committing suicide. God save our children from the scourge of suicidal tendencies. Bless them with sources of good advice and the right values so that they may never succumb to pressures to perform, achieve or those materialistic in nature. Protect them from all forms of exploitation from any quarters. Enlighten them to know that the life you have given them is your precious gift which they must cherish and treasure always. Finally give them the faith to understand and believe that there is a God above who truly cares for each one of them no matter what troubles or problems life may present them with you will always be there for them.

May Anusha RIP!!Today education has commercialized and there is rapid proliferation of educational institutions thus paving the way of scope of getting admission into professional colleges, children who either have no capacity to cope with the curriculum or have no aptitude for the same. There are no dearth of seats in these feilds and these institutes want to bring down the eligibility criteria to 35% to fill their vacant seats. Every parent wants their children to take either Engg or Medicine at whatever cost! If the child is coaxed into doing a course which she does not have the capacity then suicide is the only way out. These incidents are a wake up call to parents who force their students to get into something which the child is not capable of handling. The quality of the product coming out of these colleges too is very low and hence there is lot of unemployment even after scraping through the course. Parents should be aware enough to see that there is scope in all fields today not necessarily engg and medicine hence the child should be enrolled into a course in which he or she has aptitude and passion for!!

Seems fishy. She had to stay with the relatives as circumstances made her stay there as there was no alternative. Needs to be investigated in a very professional manner if there are any.

Sad News!! it could be anything but these incidents keep on increasing in Mangalore only after easy access on Cell Phones, E-mail, and Internet..etc where many things takes place and the kids Parents/Family or close friends are not aware of it nor disclosed, that leads to mental depression and ends up with drastic step, In Indian tradition children’s normally scared to disclose falied affiars to their parents up to certain point.

It is sad that such young minds should take drastic steps as to end their life. Is the modern world demanding too much from the young generation today that the young ones are not able to put up with the odds of life? Or is it too much too much a demand cofronted by the poor lot of India ? We have much heard about young married ladies commiting suicide in the Northern India because of dowry harrassment, but to hear about someone like Anusha in incomprehensible !

It is really shocking and hard to believe that why these youths are opting for this extreme steps of ending their lives now a days without any apparent reason. One can assume, they can not overcome/withstand obstacles/pressure/tensions of their life even for a bit.Even for small thing which they feel can not face/cope up,resulting commit suicide.so pathetic of young generation.Motive behind this barbaric step nobody knows.Gone is gone, can't help it.Only thing I can pray God to rest her departed soul in eternal peace and give enough strength, energy, courage to overcome from this grief/irreparable loss.heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family.
