Mangalore, Sep 21: Railway traffic went awry for some time on Monday September 19 evening, after the train that was to move to Puttur was directed onto the tracks meant for trains running towards Suratkal. As vehicular traffic was also affected in the process, the people too encountered problems.

Due to some technical defect in signal system at Bajal near Kankanady railway station, the passenger train meant for Puttur got diverted on to the railway tracks leading towards Suratkal. As such, movement of trains on this track came to a standstill. The problem was noticed, technical fault was repaired, and the train was again moved on the track leading towards Puttur in about 30 minutes, said the railway police.

In the meantime, the officials manning Kankanady railway station continued to show their apathy towards public grievances as before, by not receiving frantic calls made by stranded road users during the above chaos. There have been numerous complaints from consumers even on normal days that calls made to Kankanady railway remain unanswered.

The officials at the station has to be blamed. The responsible official must be punished. Why you people bring politics for the laps of the official? The politicians are not the one to give wrong signals to the trains!

Truely said by Ronald.Every day we have some or the other issues in our country. We all know how corrupt our politicians are, but we cannot do anything to them. By blaming them further, we only spoil our health and become excited.Solution is the key to all success and hope we all look at that perception.

Autometically all the trains are diverted to adjoining state coming/GOING from KR instead MAQ (central).
This particular section of the track be shut permanently where it takes more than one hour to shuttle a single train(12619/20) from MAJN-MAQ-MAJN.(uneconomical)
There must be someone lucky Pax missed the suratkal line train and boarded by chance the Puttur.

Mohandas, Mangalore agreed with you. You can see in this no comments from our people. You can see there was a news about 108 ambulance and in that news you can see so many comments as state govt is responsible for that.

These things are common with Railway Ministry run by Central Govt. But sadly the sufferers are common passengers or the people held up in crossing. UPA should learn from Lal Bahadur Shastry, ex-PM, on discipline in Railway administration. Shastry took up the moral responsibility of the train disaster & resigned from the post of Railway Minister. But today Railway Ministry is deaf to passengers basic needs...& our Pseudos keep praising the Centre & condemning the State blindly in most of comments here.
