Udupi: Tulu drama 'Soradanti Nalike' to be performed in Delhi on Feb 13

Udupi, Feb 8: The Tulu drama 'Suradanti Nalike' by Sangam Kalavidaru Manipal (R) has been selected to perform at the 'Bharat Rang Mahotsav' organized by the National School of Drama, Delhi. “The Sangam Kalavidaru troupe is one of only four troupes from Karnataka selected to perform at this prestigious international theatre festival,” said Santhosh Shetty Hiriyadka,  The show will be held on February 13 at Meghduta Hall, Delhi at 7 pm.

Soradanti Nalike, a translation of Asif Karim Bhoy's famous psychological play 'The Dumb Dancer'. A representation of the conflict between sane-unsane, reality-illusion. This drama tries to portray many ideas that cannot be understood in the emotional world of man. This play was revised and translated into Kannada by K R Omkar. The Tulu translation is by Santosh Shetty Hiriyadka and the play is directed by Bhuvan Manipal.

Sangam Kalavidaru Manipal, an organization founded in 1997 out of the passion of Tulu theatre amateur artists, has been actively growing. As a testament to its innovation and skill, it ventures into experimenting with a new play every year. It has won eight prizes at the Kemtur Tulu Drama Competition conducted by Tulukoota (R) Udupi. The team's plays 'Karnabhara', 'Valivadhe' and 'We Teach Life Sir' have already been performed in various international level drama festivals organized by the National School of Drama (NSD), Delhi.

Raghavendra Nayak, president Sripathi Manipal, former president Bhuvan Manipal, director Shreyas Kotian, actor and others were present.
