Kundapur: Varnanjali state level art camp inaugurated

Kundapur, Feb 9: “The role of arts in building a healthy society is immense. Money cannot buy mental peace. It is possible to get the same only through art, music, drama, dance and sports,” said Saku Pangala, secretary of artiste forum.

Saku was speaking at the three day state level art camp and exhibition Varnanjali that is held at Matangavana of Sri Siddivinayaka residential school of Hattiangadi on Thursday.

The programme was inaugurated by Ramesh Rao, president of Artiste Forum. Principal Sharan Kumar, secretary of Sri Siddi educational foundation, who presided over the function said, “Like the saying that artists make the dream of a poet come true through their paintings, artistes are close to emotions of all classes of people. Art is a universal language. The art of an artist cannot be valued with money. That is invaluable as it comes from the heart. Painting is like a blank sheet of paper. The person who makes it colourful is the artist. This is applicable to life also.”

Resources persons Mohan Rao B Hampi and Savitri Yarashi Bagalkot also spoke on the occasion.

Renowned artists Chandrakanta Acharya Bengaluru, Ganesh Somayaji Mangaluru, Basavaraj Kutini Gulbarga, Janardhan Havanje, Kandan G Bengaluru, Kishore Kumar Tumkur, Krishna Shetty Bengaluru, Sindhu Kamath Udupi, Shankar K V Hubballi, Vishwas Kasargod, headmistress of primary school Sujata Sadaram, Nagaraja S and others were present.

Vice prinicipal Rama Devadiga did the introductory speech. Co teachers Sumalata Jogi welcomed. Sunita rendered vote of thanks. Shashikala compered the event.
