Mangaluru: 'Drug-free district' campaign - Rs 65 lac worth of cannabis destroyed

Mangaluru, Feb 9: The 'drug-free district' campaign is going on in Dakshina Kannada district and as part of this drive the city and district police have unearthed huge quantity of drugs.

As much as 220 kilos of ganja and 200 grams of MDMA drugs valued at Rs 65 lac seized in 34 cases during the last one year were disposed of through the District Narcotics Disposal Committee on Friday, February 9.

City police commissioner Anupam Agrawal said they have destroyed 220 kilos of ganja and 200 grams of MDMA, which were seized in 34 cases with the permission of the court.

 

 

The police detected cases of drug trafficking, sale and consumption of drugs, carried out many raids, seized a huge amount of different types of drugs and arrested many accused. 

The banned substances were also seized by the police during NDPS cases in various police stations of the district.
