Bangalore:  Cylinder Explosion Leaves Wedding Hall in Flames

Bangalore, Sep 21: In an appalling accident, ‘Lakshmi Kalyana Mandapam’ a marriage hall at Sumanahalli here was left in flames following a cylinder explosion in a house close by on Wednesday September 21.

The cooking gas cylinder exploded between 1.30 and 2 this afternoon and led to a massive fire. 

Fortunately no wedding was taking place inside the hall but some employees were trapped and have sustained injuries. They have been rushed to the hospital.

Seven people have reportedly been injured including Anandayya, Nagesh, Rangaswamy, Govindaraj among others. At least four people who were trapped in the debris were rescued by 3.45 pm, informed the rescue crew.

Nine fire engines were rushed to the spot. However, some firefighters are also said to be trapped as they had rushed inside the building before the whole of the building came down. The neighboring homes too collapsed as a result of fire, said the sources.
