Mangaluru: Youth bound for Saudi Arabia killed in rail accident

Mangaluru, Feb 11: A 23-year-old youth, set to depart for Saudi Arabia on February 14, lost his life in a train accident at the Sankolige railway track on late Saturday night under the jurisdiction of the Ullal police station.

The deceased, identified as Jafar, son of Hasainar and a resident near Ucchila railway gate, was hit by a train while attempting to cross the railway track to reach his house.

Jafar had recently returned to his native place from Mumbai and was scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia on February 14, as he had received his work visa from the country.

The railway police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
