Udupi, Feb 12: Then prize distribution ceremony of Daijiworld Udupi, Kishoo Enterprises ‘Godali Sadagara’ crib photo contest was held at St Mary’s English medium school, Kannarpady, Udupi recently.

Fr David Crasta, parish priest, St Anthony Syrian Orthodox, Church, Kolalgiri; Michael Rodrigues, media coordinator, diocese of Udupi; Derrick D’Silva, entrepreneur, franchise owner of Royaloak Furniture, Udupi and Berlyoak Furniture, Brahmavar; and Dolphy Mascarenhas, entrepreneur, Proprietor, Hot Chix Restaurant, Manipal were guests for the programme. Kishore Gonsalves, franchise owner, Daijiworld Udupi was also present.

Michael Rodrigues said, "I congratulate all the winners. More than 200 participants have participated in this competition, and every year the numbers are increasing. Today, the crib preparation has become more artificial. We should try to preserve the traditional method and encourage more people to prepare the crib. Previously, naturally available items were used for crib preparation. There is a need to give more importance to Jesus in our cribs and not to worldly decors."

Dolphy Mascarenhas said, "I thank and congratulate Daijiworld Udupi for organizing such an amazing competition. Today, we can see destruction, reconstruction, and accumulation in all religious places. We have deviated from Christ's motive. Today, we can see many youths are drug addicted, disrespecting parents, and have missed the right path. Jesus Christ came to spread the word of God. Our primary focus is towards rebuilding humanity. Let this crib be a symbol of Christ’s love and sacrifice. I congratulate all the winners and participants for participating in this competition."

Fr David Crasta, parish priest of St Anthony Syrian Orthodox Church, Kolalgiri, said, "Daijiworld and Kishoo enterprises have been organizing this event for the past 6 years, and we are seeing people participating from both India and abroad. The main purpose of preparing a crib is to spread the message of Christ. Preparing the crib brings us together and spreads love. This year, the birthplace of Jesus Christ Bethlehem had no Christmas celebration due to the ongoing war. At this juncture, Jesus Christ's message of love and peace should be spread all over the world."

Leena Lobo from Attur Karkala shared her joy, saying they prepared the crib for many nights, which gave them a fruitful result. She thanked Daijiworld and Kishoo enterprises for conducting this competition and encouraging people to participate.

Vernon, president of ICYM Brahmavar, said, “I thank Daijiworld for conducting this competition and keeping the Christian tradition alive. At present time many youth and their parents are not interested in making cribs. I feel happy to be a part of the winners list out of 200 more entries.”

Kevin Rodrigues, operations manager, Daijiworld Udupi, staff and others were present.
