Thiruvananthapuram: ‘No Opening of Vault ‘B’ for Now’ – Supreme Court

Daijiworld Media Network – Thiruvananthapuram (SP)

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 21: Through an order delivered on Thursday September 21, the Supreme Court (SC) asked the concerned to keep on hold the plan to open vault ‘B’ for the present. It said that the last vault, marked as ‘B’, the contents of which are unknown, can be opened only after a proper security cover on the lines to be decided, is put in place.

The SC expressed satisfaction at the promised plan of the state government to provide security cover for the temple. It asked the committee of experts to concentrate on security and conservation of other vaults at the temple, which have already been opened, for the present.

It may be recalled the royal family of Travancore has been vehemently opposing the move to open the last remaining vault, as it fears that it will invite the wrath of the presiding deity. A ‘Devaprashanam’ divine query organized by it had also concluded that Lord Ananthapadmanabhaswamy is against this plan, and that the action may anger Him.
