New Delhi, Sep 22 (IANS): A total of 25 people, including four pregnant women, were rescued in quake-hit Sikkim Thursday, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) said.
"Four pregnant women were shifted to Mangan district and Chungthang hospital while 18 Indian tourists from Rangma Range and nine workers of Teesta project from Pegong have been rescued," an ITBP statement said.
"Three injured, including two construction workers, have been sent to hospitals," it added.
According to ITBP, 540 rescued villagers from Rangma Range and Pegong area are camping in the headquarters of the 11th Battalion of the force in Pegong and 1,000 blankets and 200 tents have been given to the victims.
Sunday's 6.8-magnitude temblor, which hit large parts of eastern and northern India, Nepal and Tibet, killed 78 people in Sikkim alone and left more than 300 injured.
